When we carry out an initial site inspection at your home we will consider all of these different aspects and will prepare plans with your total involvement. We consider this to be the best way to achieve your desired result and ultimately make use of the space available. Our quotation will also include the preparation of any structural calculations and we will apply for the required necessary permissions on your behalf.
Initial discussions to take place and your project manager introduced to you who will go through your project with you at your home and will also show you our portfolio of previous loft conversion work carried out.
We will then give you the contact details of two of our previous satisfied customers so you can get first hand advice from them on how we carry out our work.
Essex Loftspace will then talk through your exact requirements with you and will survey your house in order for architectural drawings to be drawn up for your loft conversion. At this point we ask for a deposit to be placed with us and the drawings will be completed within two weeks.
We then give you the completed drawings; if you are happy with them we will submit them to your local council on your behalf.
When they have been approved by the council we will be ready to start work on your loft conversion. At this point we will be able to confirm timings in order to alleviate any inconvenience.
At this point we will notify your neighbours to let them know we are about to start a loft conversion in your property, if there is a party wall involved we ask them to contact us if they have any problems.
We will then start erecting scaffolding and materials will start to be delivered to your property. As mentioned previously, we will endeavour to have all materials transferred directly into the loft space by using the scaffold. You should allow around 6-8 weeks for work to be completed, although some can be completed earlier if all goes according to plan. Essex Loftspace will give you a weekly update to ensure that everyone is happy and that work is being completed to our high standards.
Our project manager will then check your conversion over with a fine toothcomb and any highlighted problems will be sorted out. We will then arrange for the necessary Council representatives or a private contractor (certified) to issue you with a completion certificate for your new loft conversion. At this point you will also receive a Part P certificate which will confirm that your conversion meets all the electrical regulations.
All that remains is for you to enjoy your new loft conversion and have peace of mind that it is guaranteed for 10 years.
